The Kwara State Government has announced that, from November 2024, public sector workers without a valid Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA) number, will be ineligible for salary payments or bonuses.
This enforcement follows months of ongoing registration exercises aimed at strengthening the state’s administrative processes.
In a statement signed by Babatunde Toyin Abdulrasheed, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and issued to newsmen in Ilorin, the government reiterated the importance of the KWSRRA registration.
“In line with the administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency in resource administration, a directive had since been issued mandating all state employees, including those across the 16 local government areas, to complete their registration with KWSRRA,” said Dr. Hauwa Nuru, Commissioner for Finance.
The statement explained that the KWSRRA database is essential for effective planning, resource management, service delivery, and public safety. Dr. Nuru emphasised, “Effective November 2024, workers who have not registered will not receive salary payments or bonuses,” it stated.
The KWSRRA registration is a vital step toward establishing a comprehensive and accurate database that enables us to serve Kwara State residents more effectively.”
Dr. Nuru highlighted that this initiative will enhance the state’s payroll system, improve service delivery, and build public trust in government processes.
“The integrity of our data impacts all our financial and administrative systems. A complete database helps us make informed decisions, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure that every eligible worker is compensated fairly and accurately,” she stated.
The statement further urged all unregistered employees to promptly visit the nearest KWSRRA registration center to complete their enrollment. “By following this directive, Kwara State is working to establish a more efficient and equitable system for its workforce and residents alike,” it added.
