From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin.

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Wole Oke, describing his demise as a significant loss to the state.

Until his death, Chief Oke was the Jagunmolu of Shao land and served as the leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly during the Second Republic.

He was also a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and a respected voice in community development and governance.

In a condolence message issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sheu Abdulkadir Yusuf, the Speaker described Chief Oke as a selfless leader who worked tirelessly for the peace, unity, and progress of Kwara State.

“Chief Wole Oke was not just a political figure; he was a pillar of his community and a strong advocate for development in Kwara.

His contributions to the state, especially in legislative leadership and grassroots engagement, will never be forgotten,” Danladi-Salihu stated.

The Speaker extended his condolences to the Oke family, the Ohoro of Shao, and the people of Moro Local Government, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the loss and that Chief Oke’s soul finds eternal rest.
