The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners, ensuring the consistent payment of salaries and pensions across the state.
This assurance was made by the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, during the quarterly Inter-Ministerial press briefing held at the Ministry of Finance Conference Room in Ilorin.
Dr. Nuru highlighted the dedication of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to improving workers’ welfare, describing his administration as one of the most worker-friendly in the state’s history.
“For the past four years, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has consistently ensured prompt payment of salaries and pensions, providing a conducive environment for state workers to thrive,” Dr. Nuru stated.
She also emphasised that the government has delivered robust welfare packages, meeting the needs of workers and pensioners while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Dr. Nuru, further noted that the administration’s policies have laid the foundation for economic growth, positioning Kwara State for significant development.
She also pointed out the successes of the Kwara NG-CARES programme, which provided relief to vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Commissioner added that the government is heavily investing in infrastructure to boost job creation and revenue generation, making Kwara an attractive destination for investors.
