The newly established Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion And Market Development Agency, has entered into a strategic partnership with The Graphic Newspaper, in a bid to harness and promote the abundant economic opportunities in the state.
The partnership also seeks to project the vision of the government in the establishment of the agency as well as provide information on the activities of the organisation.
Speaking when he led other top management team of the agency on a courtesy visit to The Graphic Newspaper recently, the Director General of KOSCEPA, Honourable Victor Omofaiye, stated that the partnership became necessary in view of the critical role the state owned newspaper has played over the years in shaping public awareness and driving positive discourse within kogi state and beyond.
He added that the partnership would go a long way in ensuring that Kogi farmers, traders, investors and the general public are fully informed and repositioned to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in the state.
Hon. Omofaiye pointed out that in order to effectively project the vision for establishing the agency, there is need to partner a trusted platform like the state owned newspaper to ensure smooth actualisation of the set goals.
He further disclosed that the agency is saddled with huge responsibilities of opening state to the many opportunities available; just as he vowed that no stone would be left unturned in the effort to boost the economic potential of the state.
According to him, the agency is committed to creating a centralised platform for the aggregation, exchange, and promotion of agricultural and other mineral resources produced from the state.
In his response, the Managing Director of The Graphic Newspaper, Mr. Yusuf Itopa, commended the agency’s drive to boost the economic potential of the state; just as he assured them of a robust partnership in marketing their programme.
Mr.Itopa emphasised the need for all stakeholders to key into government’s vision by contributing towards growth and development of the state.
He pointed put that for them to succeed in their new job, there was need to work with the media stressing that The Graphic newspaper as parts of its social responsibility was committed to working closely with relevant organisations in projecting Kogi state to the outside world.
The Graphic MD described the creation of the agency as a lofty initiative while promising maximum media coverage of their programmes.
