The Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the advancement of education of women and girls in the state.

The Technical Adviser to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Multilateral Agencies and Donor-Funded Projects, Dr. Abdullahi Ozamata, stated this at a mentorship program organized by the Association of Nigerian Female Students (ANFS) at the Federal University, yesterday in Lokoja

Dr. Ozomata noted that investment in the education of women and girls is a life long commitment by any society that cares about the wellbeing of the future generation.

He assured that the Kogi state government under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will continue to invest in education as a way of promoting Human Capital Development among the people of the state.

Dr. Ozamata also emphasised the importance of guidance, support, and inspiration in shaping the future of young girls and women in the society.

He called for more investment in the education of women and girls to sway them from indecency and substance abuse which he noted have been on the rise. Adding that true empowerment must be anchored on education, discipline, and self-respect.

Similarly, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Monday Anyebe, urged the female students to prioritise their education and personal growth, describing them as holders of the key to national progress.

He commended speakers at the event for addressing critical issues affecting the wellbeing of women and girls in the state.

In a remark, the representative of the Kogi State Commissioner of Women Affairs, Amir Hajarat, praised the organisers for the exceptional work in assembling a distinguished group of dignitaries for the programme and encouraged them to view the success as the beginning of even greater accomplishments.

Earlier, the Convener and President of the Kogi State Chapter of the Association Nigerian Female Students, Zuleiha Fache, underscored the importance of sustained efforts in promoting girl-child education and mentorship.

She encouraged young girls to take charge of their futures, resist negative influences, and embrace their full potential.

She further highlighted the pivotal role of women in shaping society and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to the education of the girl child as a step towards nation building.
