Kogi Assembly lauds Gov Ododo on pro active measures against insecurity

Kogi State Government, has been commended for its prompt action in tackling the ugly situation of insecurity in Yagba West Local Government Area.

Member representing Yagba West Constituency, Hon. Idowu Ibikunle, who doubles as the Minority Leader, gave the commendation at plenary to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for urgently coming to the help of the people bedevilled by banditry in his constituency.

Hon. Ibikunle noted that the quick intervention of the Governor and Security personnel, arrested the deteriorating situation where people of the Local Government could no longer sleep with their eyes closed for fear of being killed or kidnapped by the bandits.

He said the prompt intervention of government has brought relief to the people enabling them to return to their socio economic life.

The Lawmaker thanked everyone who was instrumental to securing the lives of the people and their properties, pointing out that the efforts has built confidence in them knowing that the present administration is committed to the safety of lives and properties of its citizens.

In his remark, Rt Hon. Speaker Aliyu Umar on behalf of the Members, commended Governor Ododo, saying the quick response to the challenge of insecurity in Yagba West has demonstrated a rear leadership quality that brought the activities of the bandits in the area to a halt.

While applauding the Governor for giving hope to the people to reengage in their economic activities, the Speaker also praised the Hon. Ibikunle, for having the interest of his people at heart and prayed against such reoccurrence in any part of the state.
