Kogi APC sets date for chairmanship and councillorship primaries

Kogi State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has scheduled it’s chairmanship and councillorship primaries for December 6, 2025.

The State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, made this announcement during a press briefing in his office in Lokoja today.

The party released its scheduled time table of activities and dates ahead of the Local Government elections in the state.

Alhaji Bello, said after the release of notice on November 26, 2025, the party will commence sales of nomination forms and expression of interest from November 27th 2025 to Dec.1, 2025.

This will be followed by submission of forms ( Dec. 2, 2025 to Dec. 3, 2025), screening of aspirants (Dec.4, 2025), Appeal and final list of Aspirants (Dec. 5, 2025).

Primary Election is sheduled for December. 6, 2025, while the announcement of results  comes up on December 6, 2025.

The APC chairman said the party approached the state local government elections in accordance with the laid down guideline of elections issued by the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission  (SIEC).

He then used the forum to assure all interested aspirations under the platform of the party of a free, fair, and credible process.

“To all aspirants, I want to emphasise that the APC is a party of inclusiveness, and as such, we encourage everyone to participate in the electoral process by following the laid down guidelines by the party and SIEC. We urge all interested aspirants to feel free to advance their aspirations without fear or intimidation. The party is committed to providing the necessary level playing ground for all aspirants, in line with our guidelines and in accordance with SIEC’s timetable.

“As a responsible party, we appreciate and value most distinctively, the unwavering commitment and rock-solid support of all kogi citizens, particularly members of our great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), to His Excellence, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Odoodo, and his admirable administration.

“The success of our party and the achievements of the administration so far, are direct results of the love, cooperation, and commitment of our members, who have stood firmly and strongly behind the leadership” he further added.

While expressing gratitude to all party members for their unalloyed support, he promised that the APC would continue to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi State, irrespective of party affiliation stressing that Kogi State remains one big family.

Alhaji Bello equally assured all aspirants of a hitch-free and conducive electoral process while acknowledging the need for everyone to conduct themselves in a peaceful and respectful manner.

“Let us remember that in this process, there will be no victor, no vanquish, but rather, the people of Kogi State will be the ultimate winners” he concluded.
