Hon. Bin Shehu-Tijani buries Mother in Lokoja

The Member representing Lokoja I State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Bin Shehu-Tijani, has laid his mother, Hajia Amina Ebaiya, to rest in Lokoja.

Age 77, Late Hajia Amina Ebaiya, wife of the late Magajin Garin Lokoja, passed away on March 4, 2026.

She was buried on Thursday according to Islamic rites at the Kabawa Cemetery in Lokoja.

Family members, political associates, friends, and sympathizers gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased, who was described as a devoted mother and a woman committed to serving God and humanity.

Late Hajia Amina Ebaiya is survived by her children and relatives, including her son, Hon. Bin Ebaiya Shehu-Tijani.

Speaking shortly after the burial, Hon. Ebaiya Shehu-Tijani, expressed gratitude to God for the life his mother lived, noting that as Muslims, death is a reality that must be accepted with faith.

He described his late mother as a pillar of support who was always there in times of difficulty, offering prayers and encouragement to her children.

The lawmaker also urged people whose mothers are still alive to value and care for them while they still can.

Hon. Ebaiya said mothers often make sacrifices without asking for much in return, stressing the need for children to show love, attention, and proper care to them.

The burial attracted several dignitaries and well-wishers who came to sympathize with the family and pray for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
