From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin
The Mutawalli of Ilorin, Dr. Muhammad AbdulRazaq, has extolled the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, describing him as a visionary leader whose reign has brought tremendous progress and transformation to the Ilorin Emirate.
Dr. AbdulRazaq stated this in a congratulatory message on Tuesday, marking the 30th anniversary of the Emir’s ascension to the throne of his forefathers.
He commended the Emir for his exemplary leadership, which he said has promoted peace, unity, and development across the Ilorin community.
According to him, the Emir’s reign has witnessed notable growth in infrastructure, education, and cultural rejuvenation.
“These achievements would have remained mere dreams but for the leadership qualities and administrative acumen of Your Royal Highness, who has made Ilorin a peaceful and conducive environment for sustainable development,” the Mutawalli said.
Dr. AbdulRazaq further lauded the Emir for reviving the Emirate’s rich cultural heritage and traditional values, which, he noted, have attracted admiration and interest from within and outside Nigeria.
“Our community now enjoys a place of pride in the global arena, thanks to the deliberate and visionary efforts of Your Royal Highness to enhance and preserve Ilorin’s cultural identity,” he added.
Describing the Emir’s three decades on the throne as a period of steady advancement and transformation, the Mutawalli said Dr. Sulu-Gambari’s wisdom, foresight, and humility have earned him respect and recognition beyond the shores of Nigeria.
He prayed that Almighty Allah continues to bless the Emir with long life, sound health, and strength to continue his service to humanity.
“Indeed, Your Royal Highness is worthy of emulation for your resourcefulness and leadership sagacity, and I am confident that history will be kind to you,” Dr. AbdulRazaq concluded.
Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari ascended the throne as the 11th Emir of Ilorin in 1995 and has since been celebrated for his commitment to peacebuilding, cultural preservation, and the overall development of the Ilorin Emirate.
