Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, led other other dignitaries including members of the state political class to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Unity Rally held at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Abuja.
The event marked the significant defection of Hon. Christopher Zakkan Maikalangu, Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), to the APC.
The rally, chaired by the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Umar Ganduje, was graced by notable personalities including Alhaji Yahaya Bello, former Governor of Kogi State; members of the APC National Working Committee; ministers; and other top government officials.
Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, he was accompanied by former members representing Idah Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Inah Hussein and Hon. Emmanuel Egwu.
Also in his entourage were Hon. Sadiq Ainoko; former State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Nichodemous Adejoh; Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce and Industry, Hon. Aboh Ibrahim; Special Adviser on Environment, Hon. Thomas Offor; and Special Adviser on Special Duties II, Comrade Tijani Oricha, the State Accountant of NUT, among others.
The rally attracted party leaders across the Federal Capital Territory and was designed to strengthen unity, cohesion, and the progress of the APC in the area.
The defection of Hon. Maikalangu is seen as a major boost, signaling the party’s growing momentum and preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
