Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, on Friday inaugurated six new judges to the state high court, urging them to prioritize diligence, fairness, and the broader interest of national security.
The newly appointed judges are Ibijoke Olabisi Olawoyin, Fatimah Funsho Abdulrasaq, Oluwatosin Adenike Adeniyi, Yusuf Diko Adebayo, Olalekan Osuolale Ajayi, and Muritala Folohunsho.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the Government House, Ilorin, Governor AbdulRazaq, expressed confidence in the judges’ ability to deliver justice impartially, emphasising that their decisions will play a pivotal role in shaping the society.

He congratulated them for their appointment and praised their dedication, which led to this significant milestone.
The Governor highlighted that this is the first time six judges are being sworn in simultaneously in the state, bringing the total number of high court judges he has appointed during his tenure to 11.
“As you begin this critical task, remember that justice is the foundation of a stable society,” AbdulRazaq said, quoting Usman Dan Fodio’s famous words: “A kingdom can endure unbelief, but it cannot endure injustice.”
He further reassured the judiciary of his administration’s continued support, citing recent renovations and plans to construct a new court complex to enhance judicial operations in Kwara.
Accompanied by the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara, Governor AbdulRazaq presented new SUVs to the newly sworn-in judges, a gesture symbolizing the government’s commitment to improving the judiciary’s working conditions.
He noted that the harmonious relationship between the executive and judiciary arms has enabled timely payment of entitlements and allowances for judicial officers.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to continue fostering collaboration among the judiciary, legislature, and security agencies to promote peace and development in the state, urging everyone to remain united in their efforts to build a greater Kwara State.
Justice Adebara, in his remarks, described the ceremony as a landmark event for the state’s judiciary, adding that the newly appointed judges bring fresh perspectives and energy to the judicial system. He applauded Governor AbdulRazaq’s unwavering dedication to the rule of law, which has facilitated the swift dispensation of justice in Kwara.
Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed judges, Justice Ibijoke Olabisi Olawoyin, pledged their commitment to upholding justice, fairness, and equity. She commended the Governor for ensuring that all necessary conditions set by the National Judicial Council were met, making their appointments possible.
