Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, recently met with the Consular General of the People’s Republic of China to explore potential Chinese investment opportunities that can propel Kogi’s industrial growth.
This strategic engagement aims to foster a mutually beneficial partnership, unlocking new avenues for economic development and cooperation between Kogi State and China.
The recent bilateral meeting in Lagos, brought together key stakeholders to fortify the friendly and economic ties already forged. The meeting focused on strategic areas of mutual interest, including agriculture, commerce, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.
Governor Ododo seized the opportunity to showcase the State’s immense potential and readiness to welcome Chinese investors. He emphasised his administration’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment, particularly within the State Free Trade Zone and the proposed Industrial Park, designed to attract investments and drive economic growth.
He noted that Kogi State boasts of an impressive array of natural resources, making it an ideal hub for industrial and agricultural growth in Nigeria.
Its vast expanses of arable land, rich mineral deposits, abundant water bodies, and favorable climate, create a perfect storm of opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs. With these advantages, Kogi State is poised to become a leading destination for agricultural and industrial development, driving economic growth and prosperity for its people.

She has committed to simplifying the visa process for representatives from Kogi State, aiming to enhance cooperation and foster deeper ties between the two nations. This significant development follows a milestone meeting that marked a major step in strengthening economic and diplomatic relations between Kogi State and China.
