Addressing the gathering, the Governor, detailed the achievements of his urban renewal initiative, which has seen the rehabilitation and upgrading of several roads across Ilorin and beyond.

Projects like the Sulu-Gambari Road, Oja Oba, Tanke Junction, and Ahmadu Bello Way, were highlighted as part of efforts to position Ilorin alongside other leading capital cities in Nigeria.

“Yes, we are proudly transforming the landscape of Ilorin,” AbdulRazaq said. “From Sulu-Gambari Road to Omoda and Challenge, Ilorin now stands shoulder to shoulder with leading cities in our country as we rapidly upgrade the infrastructure and restore law and order for the good of all.”

The Governor also revealed plans for the Ilorin Smart City project, the revival of the Dada Pottery industry, and the construction of 250 housing units in 2025.

Additionally, he announced that the Kwara State University of Education, Ilorin, is set to commence operations in 2025, further expanding the state’s educational infrastructure.

The IEDPU President, Abdulmumin Ayo AbdulMalik, praised the government’s urban renewal efforts, describing them as vital for the beautification and growth of Ilorin and Kwara State.

He urged the government to equip the union’s Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari Skills Acquisition Hub with modern facilities to enhance youth empowerment.

Ambassador Yahya Seriki, the event’s chief launcher, donated N100 million towards ongoing IEDPU projects, while Prof. Oba, who chaired the event, commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his focus on peace, infrastructure, and social protection programs.
