A fire outbreak on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, destroyed a room in a four-bedroom flat at Temidire Community, Upper Gaa-Akanbi Area, Ilorin, Kwara State.
According to preliminary investigations, the fire, which started at about 3:42 p.m., was caused by spontaneous ignition.
Firefighters from the Kwara State Fire Service quickly responded to the scene, preventing the inferno from spreading to other parts of the building.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Head of Media and Publicity for the Kwara State Fire Service, PFO Hassan Adekunle.
Commending his team for their swift intervention, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John, urged residents to adopt better fire safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
“The professionalism displayed by our officers was commendable. We urge the public to always take fire safety measures seriously to avoid such incidents,” he said.
The Kwara State Fire Service reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property through proactive fire prevention campaigns and rapid emergency response.
