The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has reiterated the Federal government’s continuous collaboration with States and other relevant Stakeholders in mitigating environmental challenges in the country.
Balarabe stated this while receiving a Fellow and Leadership Excellence Award from the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership ( CIML ) USA, in Abuja Wednesday.
The Minister believed that the awards will further motivate the Ministry and redouble it’s efforts in implementing all environmental policies across the country.
He commended the institute for its plans to build the capacity of Nigerians in leadership position for tackling all the ecological issues in Nigeria.
Lawal further said that the achievements of the present administration in the environmental sector is key in ensuring healthy environment in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to him, “both awards would be dedicated to the Ministry and its Agencies staff for their unwavering and collective roles played that led to the outstanding performance in environmental sector.
Earlier in his opening remark, Dr Sam Ojo, the Country Director of the CIML stated that both awards were confered on the Minister as a result of his leadership and commitment in the management of environmental issues in Nigeria.
He said, a healthy environment will enhance economic stability, effective security and sound health sector.
The institute also used the occasion to revealed its plans to train about 30,000 leaders in the various sectors of the economy in the country to support in resolving challenges nationwide.
In the attendance, was the First Lady of Osun State, Mrs Ngozi Adeleke, a fellow of the institute who decorated the Minister and presented the awards while Prof. Mark Okaji handed over the certificate.
