Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, has extolled the good qualities and contributions of the immediate past Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Teddy Adegbola.
Mr. Adegbola bowed out of the service of the Information Ministry and was honoured and commended along with some former Directors for their outstanding service to state civil service.
Fanwo made this statement during the send-forth ceremony organized by the Ministry for the retired Permanent Secretary and some Directors in Lokoja.
The Commissioner described Mr. Adegbola as a pragmatic officer whose dedication and contributions made his work easier at the ministry.
He used the forum to urge civil servants to emulate his virtues by leaving a lasting legacy wherever they serve.
In his remark, the Managing Director and Editor In Chief of The Graphic Newspaper, Mr. Yusuf Jimoh Itopa, commended Mr. Adegbola, describing him as a humble and committed civil servant who dedicated his time to his work.
He encouraged staff of the ministry to emulate his leadership style and impact in their assignments.
Earlier, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),Comrade Seidu Ademu, praised the retired Permanent Secretary for prioritizing staff welfare while wishing him a fruitful retirement.
Speaking, the retired Permanent Secretary , Mr Teddy Adegbola thanked Hon Fanwo for creating a conducive atmosphere for him to carry out his duties.
He used the forum to highlight some of the challenges facing some department under the ministry which includes lack of befitting office accommodation, mobility and inadequate staff. And called for urgent government attention to sustain productivity in the sector.
While appreciating staff for their support, he revealed that the Ministry under his supervision, witnessed manpower development in terms of recruitment and replacement of officers both in the ministry and parastatals.
