The Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, has dismissed 13 staff members for various offences, including indiscipline, sexual misconduct, and dereliction of duty.

Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Joseph Ayachi, made this known on Tuesday during a press conference in Ado Ekiti, ahead of the institution’s 29th convocation ceremony.

Ayachi disclosed that nine staff members were sacked for “indiscipline and impunity,” three were dismissed for abandoning their duty posts, while one was found guilty of sexual misconduct. He added that 21 other staff members were issued warnings, and three were barred from holding administrative positions for three years.

“The university remains committed to upholding discipline and academic excellence. Any act that undermines our values will not be condoned,” Ayachi stated.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor announced that a total of 16,446 students would be conferred with diplomas and degrees during the convocation ceremony scheduled for March 29, 2025. Among them, 200 will graduate with first-class honors.
