The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State, has commissioned a new mini-barracks in Obo-Ile, built and donated by the Obo-Ile community.
The facility, named in honor of the Kwara State NSCDC Commandant, Dr. Umar Mohammed, is intended to provide suitable accommodation and a conducive environment for the officers stationed in the Obo-Ile Division.
The commissioning ceremony took place on Wednesday, with Dr. Mohammed expressing his deep appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Oba Rufus Olusegun Adebayo, the Owalobo of Obo-Ile, Akamekun 1, and the entire community for their generosity and support.
He assured that the facility would be put to optimum use to enhance the security of the area.
In his remarks, Oba Rufus Olusegun Adebayo commended the State Commandant for his efforts in strengthening security in the community.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of the Obo-Ile community to continue supporting the NSCDC in their efforts to maintain peace and security.
