Bauchi Governor approves over ₦540m Food Support for Christians

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed,has approved over ₦500 million for the purchase and distribution of Christmas food items to Christian communities across the state.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee for the distribution of Christmas gifts, Mr. Abdon Dalla-Gin,disclosed this during a media briefing in Bauchi.

He explained that the funds was used to procure 171 bulls, 222 rams, 3,462 bags of 50-kilogramme rice, and 504 cartons of 25-litre groundnut oil for distribution.

Mr. Dalla-Gin said the beneficiaries include the five blocs of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), senior Christian leaders, religious organizations,and less-privileged groups across Bauchi State.

He added that the payment of December salaries to workers has already commenced, alongside other forms of support to Christian communities in the state.

The committee chairman commended Governor Bala Mohammed, for the gesture, describing it as a sign of inclusive governance and assured that Christian communities will continue to support the administration.
