*Calls on citizens to partner with government
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his commitment to tireless service and collective progress as Kogi State marks its 34th anniversary.
In his anniversary message to the people of the state on Wednesday, Governor Ododo described the milestone as both a celebration and a moment of sober reflection on the journey so far.
“It is a great honor and privilege to serve as the Chief Servant of our dear state at a time like this,” he said. “Just as on our birthdays as individuals, when we celebrate, we also look back to examine whether we are truly living up to our age.”
The Governor recalled that since its creation in 1991, Kogi State has weathered challenges and recorded triumphs, forging an identity built on resilience, diversity, and boundless potential.
According to him, the state is now experiencing massive transformation with ongoing road projects, remodeled schools, revitalised hospitals, and rural development initiatives. “We may not yet be where we desire to be, but we are certainly no longer where we used to be,” he said.
Looking ahead, Governor Ododo outlined his vision of a Kogi where every child has access to quality education, healthcare is within the reach of all, industries thrive, and agriculture guarantees prosperity for the people.
“From Akutupa to Oshokoshoko, from Adavi to Ibaji, from Ajiolo to Gegu, I hear your voices and aspirations for a better and more prosperous Kogi State,” he assured.
The Governor urged citizens to partner with government in building the state of their dreams, stressing that progress requires the commitment of all. “Your votes gave me the mandate, but I want my service and results to define me,” Ododo declared.
He called on the people to renew their pledge to unity, peace, and hard work as the state steps into another year of its existence.
“Happy 34th Anniversary to the Confluence State. The journey ahead is bright, and together, we will walk it in hope and in strength,” the Governor assured.
