Assembly Speaker celebrates Kogi @34

The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, has congratulated the government and people of the state on the occasion of the state’s 34th Anniversary.

This is contained in a statement signed and made available to the media by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed.

The Speaker said in the statement that the day reminds all citizens of the noble vision upon which Kogi State was founded, which is a vision of unity, progress, and shared prosperity for all.

He noted that over the years, the people’s resilience, creativity, and communal spirit have shaped Kogi into a land of promise and possibilities.

“The 8th Kogi State House of Assembly rejoices with every son and daughter of this State. May unity remain our strength, peace our anchor, and progress our shared destiny.

“Today, we roll back the days from 1991 when our dear Kogi became one of the federating units within our great nation, Nigeria!

“We celebrate Kogi—our land, where rivers meet, cultures blend, and hope endures. This anniversary reminds us of the courage of our past and the promise of our future.

“On this auspicious occasion, therefore, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the government and good people of the Confluence State.

“As we celebrate this milestone, let us renew our commitment to the ideals of peace, development, and good governance. Together, we can build a future that honors the sacrifices of our founding fathers and secures lasting prosperity for generations to come.

“On behalf of my colleagues, management and staff of Kogi State House of Assembly, I felicitate with His Excellency, the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and indeed all Kogites on this historic anniversary.

“May our beloved state continue to thrive as a beacon of hope, unity, and progress in Nigeria.”
