Adamawa police arrests two suspects connected to kidnapping of a minor

Adamawa State Police Command, has arrested two suspected kidnappers in connection with the abduction of a four-year-old child in Ngballang, Numan Local Government Area of the state.

The incident which was reported on March 2, 2026, stated that, a man identified as Umar Ibrahim, a resident of Ngballang, lodged a complaint at the Numan Police Division that his son, Ramadan, went out to play on March 1 but did’t return home.

A statement issued on Friday, the Police Image maker, Suleiman Nguroje, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.

All efforts by the family to locate the child initially proved unsuccessful. Few days later, the father reportedly received a call from an unknown number informing him that his son had been kidnapped and demanding a ransom of ₦800,000 for the child’s release.

In the report, operatives attached to the Numan Division, launched an investigation which led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Sadiq Ali, 19, and Shitu Umar, 23, both residents of Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area.

The duo who were arrested in connection with the crime voluntarily confessed committing the organised crime during interrogation.

The Command reiterates its commitment to protecting lives and property and urges members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police formation.
