The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, has felicitated with the Muslim community on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr Sallah celebration urging them to sustain the lessons of Ramadan.
In his message, Comrade Joel Salifu, extended warm greetings to Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Advance New Direction Government as well as all residents of Kogi State, particularly Kogi Muslim community and others across Nigeria for successfully completing the month-long spiritual journey of fasting, prayer, and charitable acts in obedience to the divine will.
He prayed Almighty Allah to bless their sacrifices and grant them a more prosperous and fulfilling future.
Reflecting on the significance of the celebration, he emphasised that Eid al-Fitr rejuvenates the spirit of Muslims, reinforcing the profound meaning and essence of life.
He urged them to uphold the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), embracing values such as righteousness, generosity, affection, self-discipline, and good behavior in their daily lives.
As the state marks another Eid celebration, he called on all Kogi residents to uphold these teachings and recognise the material and human blessings bestowed upon them by Almighty Allah.
He encouraged a spirit of respect and inclusivity, irrespective of religious beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, tribal differences, or political affiliations, to collectively position Kogi State for greater achievements.
The deputy governor expressed hope that the conclusion of Ramadan would not be the last experience of the sacred practice and prayed for the blessings of their supplications to bring positive transformation to their lives.
