The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the administration and planning of tertiary education through strategic partnerships with experts in the field.

Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Kawu, made this known while receiving members of the National Association of Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP), during a courtesy visit to her office.

She highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the education sector, emphasising that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration, has prioritised policies that enhance tertiary education and expand access to quality learning.

“The Kwara State Government is open to strategic partnerships that will complement our efforts in improving tertiary education. We welcome NAEAP’s expertise in educational administration and planning, especially in areas such as capacity building, policy formulation, and institutional governance,” she said.

Hajia Modibbo Kawu, commended NAEAP for its dedication to educational management and assured the team of the government’s readiness to collaborate in ways that align with its development agenda.

NAEAP Chairman, Dr. Muritala Tuku, noted that the association remains committed to promoting excellence in educational administration, planning, and policy implementation.

He stressed the importance of continuous professional development for educational administrators and the adoption of global best practices in managing higher institutions.

“We recognise the giant strides the state government is making in the education sector, and we are eager to contribute our expertise to further enhance the quality of tertiary education in Kwara. Through collaboration, we can strengthen educational policies, develop innovative solutions to sectoral challenges, and ensure that the education system remains responsive to societal needs,” Dr. Tuku said.

The discussion underscored the need for evidence-based decision-making in policy formulation and the crucial role of research in improving governance within educational institutions. Both parties expressed optimism that the partnership would lead to lasting improvements in Kwara’s tertiary education system.
