LG Chairman assures residents of swift response after devastating storm

Residents of Igbonna in Oyun Local Government Area, Kwara State, have been assured of government support following the destruction caused by a heavy downpour recently.

The storm destroyed several buildings, including a school that collapsed under its impact.

During a visit to the affected area, the Executive Chairman of Oyun Local Government, Hon. Kamar Akanbi, sympathised with the victims and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing relief and rebuilding damaged structures.

“I deeply sympathise with all those affected by this unfortunate incident. The government will not abandon you in this difficult time,” he assured the residents.

Hon. Akanbi further pledged that the collapsed school would be given immediate attention in the next phase of development to ensure that students’ education is not disrupted.

Accompanying him on the visit were key officials, including the Speaker of the Oyun Legislative Council, Hon. Ayanlere Olalekan, and the Head of the Works Department, among others.
