From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The North Central Zonal Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Priscilla Gondo-Aluor, has urged staff of the agency in Benue State to fully align with its transformation agenda, emphasising grassroots mobilization, media engagement, and collaboration with government and traditional institutions.

During her visit to the state on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, as part of her tour across the North Central Zone, Dr. Gondo-Aluor,  engaged NOA staff on the agency’s renewed vision under the leadership of Director General Mallam Lanre Issah-Onilu.

She highlighted the need for officers to actively promote government programs within their communities, stressing that effective mobilisation does not always require large budgets but a commitment to information dissemination.

“Every NOA staff is an ambassador of change. The transformation agenda requires each of us to take ownership, share government initiatives within our circles, and reinforce national values at every opportunity,” she stated.

Acting State Director of NOA in Benue, Mr. Mark Dewua, commended Dr. Gondo-Aluor on her appointment, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of her dedication to the agency. He assured her of the state directorate’s support in implementing NOA’s strategic goals.

Beyond her interaction with staff, the Zonal Director paid courtesy visits to local government officials and traditional rulers, underscoring the need for collaboration to achieve NOA’s mandate.

At the palace of the Tor Tiv, HRM Orchivirigh Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, she called on traditional leaders to integrate NOA’s programs into their engagements with the people, emphasising the agency’s role in value reorientation.

“The voice of traditional rulers carries immense influence in shaping societal values. Your support in promoting NOA’s initiatives will help restore moral discipline and national consciousness among our people,” Dr. Gondo-Aluor appealed.

Responding, the Tor Tiv acknowledged NOA’s renewed efforts, particularly its growing media presence and focus on national values. He pledged the support of traditional rulers in Benue, recognising the agency’s role in addressing moral and attitudinal decline.

During her visit, Dr. Gondo-Aluor also toured NOA Area Offices in Makurdi, Tarka, and Gboko, encouraging staff to remain dedicated and professional in their conduct. She appealed to local government chairmen to integrate NOA in their activities and provide support for its operations.

To honor her visit, the NOA Zonal Director was adorned in Tiv traditional attire, symbolising her recognition by the people of Benue.
