Gov. AbdulRazaq reshuffles cabinet, charges new Commissioners on teamwork, Innovation

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has sworn in Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe and Dr. Maryam Nnafatima Imam as new commissioners, urging them to embrace teamwork and contribute to his administration’s drive for sustainable development.

In the latest cabinet reshuffle, Dr. Olohungbebe, now heads the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, while Dr. Nnafatima Imam, takes charge of the Ministry of Social Development.

Other changes include the redeployment of Hajia Sa’adatu Kawu to the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Dr. Mary Arinde to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

Lafia Kora now oversees the newly created Ministry of Transportation, while Olohuntoyosi Adebayo, moves from Agriculture and Rural Development to the new Ministry of Livestock Development.

Dr. Afeez Abolore assumes office as Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, while Abosede Buraimoh takes over the Ministry of Solid Minerals after previously serving in Social Development.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Governor AbdulRazaq, described the new commissioners as competent individuals whose dedication to service had earned them the opportunity to contribute at a higher level.

“This is a fresh phase that demands renewed commitment to public service, integrity, and vision.

“Our administration has recorded significant progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social protection. It is your responsibility to build on these achievements and drive further growth, he said.”

He emphasised the need for collaboration and innovation, urging the new appointees to engage with the people and adopt creative solutions in governance.

“As you step into these roles, let creativity and responsiveness guide your actions. Governance is a shared responsibility and together, we must strive to leave Kwara better than we met it,” the governor added.

AbdulRazaq congratulated the commissioners and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver on the administration’s development agenda for the state.
