New Provost, Kogi COE Ankpa assumes office, declares State of Emergency on Water, Electricity

Newly appointed Provost of Kogi State College of Education Ankpa, Dr. Paul  Fashagba, has assumed office with a promise to provide transformational academic excellence.

Recall that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, had on January 27th 2025 appointed Dr. Fashagba as Provost of the College.

The new Provost, who received a rousing welcome from Staff, Students and supporters, assured of his commitment to prioritising the welfare of staff and Students.

According to him, as part of his resolve to hit the ground running, he has declared a Statement of emergency on water and electricity which are two major challenges bedeviling the School.

Dr. Fashagba reiterated his willingness to partner with Alumni of the College in a bid to bring them back to contribute positively to the development of their Alma mater.

While expressing appreciation to Governor Ododo for the confidence reposed in him with the appointment, the Provost solicited the support of the management and Staff to enable him to succeed.

The Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim, described Dr. Fashagba as a renowned academic who will not let the Governor and people of Kogi State down.

The Outgone Provost, Dr. Muhammed Kabir, said the appointment of Dr. Femi Fashagba was divine as only God gives power, congratulating the new Provost on his elevation.

Dr. Kabir promised to work with the new Provost where needed, urging the Staff to extend the same support given him to the new Chief Executive.

The new Provost immediately after the taking over the affairs of the College paid a Traditional homage to the Onu Ankpa, Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu where the Paramount Ruler enjoined him to carry everyone along.
