Kogi Assembly confirms Bolarin as Commissioner for Livestock Devt

Kogi State House of Assembly, has confirmed Dr Olufemi Bolarin, as the Commissioner for Livestock Development.

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, made this known on the floor of the House while presenting the screening report in Lokoja.

Contributing, the Member Representing Yagba West and Minority leader Hon. Idowu Ibikunle, appreciated Governor Ahmad Ododo for giving him the opportunity to contribute his quota to livestock production and food security in general through the Ministry of Livestock Development.

He noted that, Dr Bolarin was a one time Commissioner for Agriculture who has served in the highest capacity in the state, was experienced and qualified for the assignment. He then urged the house to allow him to take a bow.

In the same manner, the member representing Okene Town, Hon Dr Sulieman Abdulrazak, pointed out that the office comes with much responsibilities adding that the house was committed to supporting the commissioner and ministry achieve it’s mandate through legislative oversight functions.

He charged him to use his wealth of experience in the agricultural sector to ensure the effective take off and function of the new ministry.

On his part,the member Representing Lokoja 1, Hon Bin Ebaiye Tijjani, expressed confidence in the ability of the new commissioner to deliver on his mandate based on the periods they have worked together.

While the member representing Omala, Hon Umar Yahaya, praised the rich curriculum vitae and work experience of the new commissioner noting that it has equipped him to handle the task ahead.

He observed that Kogi is blessed with rich land for agriculture and livestock production and advocated for the enhancement of the potentials for the overall benefit of the state.

Speaking, the new Commissioner for Liverstock Development, Dr Olufemi Bolarin applauded members of House of Assembly for their support while pledging his readiness to work with them and other relevant stakeholders in transforming the sector.

According to him, efforts are on to ensure the new ministry hits the ground running to boost livestock production and food security. Just as he revealed plans to woo local and international investors as well as enhance relationship with the federal government to transform the ministry.
