Ondo Gube: Aiyedatiwa, Adelami receive certificate of return

The Governor elect of just concluded Ondo State election, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his Deputy, Owolabi Adelami, has received their certificates of return respectively to continued as Governor and deputy for another four years.

Presenting the certificate recently at the INEC headquarters, Maitama Abuja, the supervising National Commissioner in charge of Ondo state election, who represented INEC chairman, Professor Kunle Ajayi, expressed his satisfaction with the way Ondo people conducted themselves during the election.

He added that Ondo election is a testament that INEC is committed to democratic process. While appreciating stakeholders, including Political Parties and their candidates who maintained peace during the campaigns.

Professor Kunle equally commended security agencies for their doggedness. He also appreciated the media for keeping Nigerians and the world in the known of what transpired in Ondo state.

Ajayi concluded by saying, “given certificate is not a ceremonial thing alone but a constitutional obligation according to electoral act in section 72/1 which gave INEC the power to do that.”

In his acceptance speech, Governor Aiyedatiwa, commended the people of Ondo State, stakeholders who made the election possible and peaceful and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for allowing a free playground for everybody before and during the election.
