The Office of the Head of Civil Service in Kogi State, has organised an in-house training for Administrative and Executive Officers on how to discharge their responsibilities optimally.
Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Mr. Elijah Evinemi, who declared the training open, welcome the participants and urged them to get the best out of it.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Evinemi noted that the training is to help administrators offer an enhanced service at their duty stations.

He acknowledged the immense support and approval of the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on the charge to improve service delivery.
He further emphasised that the Governor has given matching orders on the reformation of the Civil Service which is why trainings are being organised to boost delivery and encourage optimal performances. According to him, this was demonstrated during the last appointment exercise for Permanent Secretaries where they had to go through trainings before examination was conducted and the best picked.
The Head of Service explained that the era of analogue and manual operations is fast fading out and Artificial Intelligence should be encouraged.
He further stated that self-development and trainings should be prioritised because it will equip administrators and help them to meet up with the standard everywhere around the Country.
Evinemi added: “What is expected of the participants is rapt attention and they should avoid anything that can cause distractions to them because government has made the necessary provision,” opining that it should be an interactive session.
Elder Sunday Odeh who is one of the resource persons, and also the Permanent Secretary for Local Government Civil Service Commission, spoke on “The role of financial regulations in the administration of Public Service in Kogi State and its effects on the administration.” Similarly, he spoke on the role of civil service for efficient and efficient administration of public service.
Mrs. Anne Onoja, a Director and a staff of office of the Head of Service, spoke on “Leadership, Emotional Intelligence and its importance.”
She charged the participants to take advantage of the training and equip themselves well.
