The Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s attainment of indepence from British Colonial Rule with a call for patience and renew commitment to the Nigerian project.

His message was contained in a press statement signed and made available to the media by his Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed.

The Speaker particularly congratulated the people of the state for their courageous roles in the march to self government for the country which was realised in 1960, and urged them to continue to sustain their belief in the country and the state to be better.

He appealed to Nigerians to adopt the virtues of patience and patriotism even in the mist of the numerous challenges confronting the country, while urging citizens to renew their commitment and belief in the ability of the current administration to make Nigeria better.

The speaker said government at all levels were working round the clock to ensure they address the socioeconomic and political issues confronting Nigeria and urged citizens to continue to pray and support their leaders to come up with pragmatic solutions to the challenges.

Rt Hon Yusuf used the medium to also felicitate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for their sterling leadership that is driving the country and Kogi State in particular.

He especially praised Governor Ododo for his leadership style which he noted has put the yearnings of the people of Kogi State on the front burner.

The Speaker noted that the Governor has ensured improved infrastructure and other social services for Kogi people, adding that improved welfare for workers across the state was an indication of a new dawn and that it was clear that Governor Ododo was a man of the people.

Rt Hon Umar then congratulated political leaders at all levels, especially members of the State House of Assembly for their service and appealed to them to redouble their efforts towards promoting policies that would bring succour to the masses.
