Speaking at the training ground in Benin city, Edo state, the Board Chairman of the Electoral Institute, Professor Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, said, the training is to enhance the skill sets and capabilities of State Training Officers and other trainers from the Institute and the Commission headquarters.

He said, the training will ensure that “our electoral personnel are not only well-prepared but also equipped to uphold the integrity and efficiency of our electoral processes and procedures.

“Together, we aim to empower you, our State Training Officers, with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct training programs that meet the highest standards of professionalism and efficacy.

“As we embark on this journey of learning and discovery, let us embrace the opportunity to enhance our collective capacity and reaffirm our dedication to the principles of transparency, inclusivity, and electoral integrity”, he said.

On his part, the Director General, Electoral Institute, Dr Sa’ad Umar Idris also said that the training has been meticulously designed with a primary focus on professionalism and competence.

According to him, “We recognise that in today’s dynamic world, the role of a trainer extends far beyond imparting knowledge; it demands a deep understanding of instructional design. Training needs assessment, effective communication strategies, and the ability to inspire and engage learners from diverse backgrounds.

“Moreover, this course is not just about acquiring a certificate; it is about investing in your continuous growth and development as a trainer.

“By the end of this program, you will not only gain a deeper understanding of the principles of adult learning and training evaluation but also sharpen your ability to design and deliver training programs that make a tangible difference”, he added.
