The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, says the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has reaffirmed self-revolution as the driving force behind China’s modernization and national rejuvenation.
According to a statement issued in Abuja and made available to Journalists by the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, said, the plenary session, which recently concluded in Beijing, reviewed and adopted the resolution on certain major issues concerning persevering with full and rigorous party self-governance.
Ambassador Yu, added that the resolution provides a strong political guarantee for advancing the great cause of building a strong country through Chinese modernization.
He said the session has shown the world that the CPC has grown stronger through self-revolution, that China’s development path has become clearer and more determined, and that Beijing remains willing to share governance experience with other countries.
“To govern the country well, we must first govern the Party well; only when the Party thrives can the nation prosper,” he said, noting that since the 18th National Congress, the Party has pursued full and rigorous self-governance with historical courage and strategic resolve.
He added that the fight against corruption has achieved an overwhelming victory and been comprehensively consolidated, proving that the CPC, as the world’s largest Marxist governing party, has the capacity for self-purification, self-improvement, self-renewal and self-enhancement.
Ambassador Yu stressed that self-revolution is not an abstract concept but a practical force that has rallied Chinese society and translated governance efficacy into development results, including rapid economic growth and long-term social stability.
Yu cited China’s achievements to include building the world’s largest and most complete industrial system, ranking first globally in manufacturing value-added, nurturing a middle-income group of over 400 million people, and historically solving absolute poverty.
On the global stage, the envoy said China, as the world’s second-largest economy, has contributed around 30 percent to global economic growth for many consecutive years, serving as an important multiplier and stabilizer. He said a steadily developing China will continue to expand high-level opening-up and inject momentum into global supply chains and economic recovery.
Ambassador Yu stated further that China never exports its development model, attaches no political conditions, and never interferes in other countries’ internal affairs, but remains ready to share governance experience on the basis of equality.
On Africa, he said the continent remains a key partner in Chinese modernization, recalling the 2024 FOCAC Beijing Summit and the “Ten Partnership Actions” which he noted that from May 1 this year, China implemented zero-tariff treatment for all African countries with diplomatic relations with China, consolidating its position as Africa’s largest trading partner.
He equally described Nigeria as Africa’s most populous country and a key engine of the continent’s revitalization, adding that under the strategic guidance of Presidents Xi Jinping and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the China-Nigeria comprehensive strategic partnership has entered a new stage of high-quality development, to the benefit of both peoples.
