The Oba Yoruba in Lokoja, Oba Audu Oke(Owoniboy), has expressed profound appreciation to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for sponsoring his overseas medical trip to Saudi Arabia.
The monach, who recently returned to the country after undergoing a medical check-up and eye surgery in Saudi Arabia, described the Governor’s gesture as a demonstration of exemplary leadership, compassion, and commitment to the welfare of traditional rulers and citizens of the state.
Speaking to newsmen at his palace in Lokoja on his return, the monarch said he was overwhelmed by the Governor’s intervention at a time he needed it most.
The Oba who thanked , Governor Ododo, for saving his life, said he did not hesitate to approve and sponsore the entire trip,
The monach stated further that, because of the quick intervention by Governor Ododo, he is back hale and hearty
Oba Audu disclosed that the medical procedure was successful and he is recuperating well. Adding that the treatment he received in Saudi Arabia was excellent.
The Oba noted that Governor Ododo’s support goes beyond his person, noting that it shows respect for the traditional institution in Kogi State.
“This shows that Governor Ododo is a man who respects tradition and values human life. He has shown that his government is for all, regardless of tribe or religion. The Yoruba community in Lokoja and Kogi State at large are grateful”, he added.
He offered prayers for the Governor, asking God to grant him sound health, wisdom, and success in his administration and called on all Kogites to continue to support and pray for the present administration to succeed in its developmental strides.
The Oba also commended Col. Jerry Omadara, for the role he played to ensure speedy interventions and Engr. Bashiru Gegu for his supporting role to ensure speedy recovery .
He thanked all Yoruba community and the entire people of Lokoja for their prayers and support which according to him contribute to his speedy recovery.
