A Veteran broadcaster and Journalist who is the Voice of America (VOA), Bureau Coordinator and Programme Officer in Abuja Nigeria, Hajiya Madina Dauda Nadabo has been appointed as the Director of Communications and Public Affairs, Africa Blue Economy Roundtable (ABER).
Before the appointment, she is still the Voice of America in Abuja, most especially National Assembly where she was covering since 1999 up to date.
The appointment was contained in a letter dated September 15, 2026, signed by the Chairman/CEO of ABER and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the BRACED Tourism Promotion and Development Initiative (BTPDI), Dr. Piriye Kiyaramo.
According to the letter, the appointment recognises Nadabo’s distinguished career as a veteran broadcast journalist with over four decades of experience in journalism and international broadcasting, as well as her service as a Bureau Coordinator and Programme Officer for the Voice of America (VOA) Nigeria Service since 1998 across its English and Hausa services.
In her new role, Nadabo will lead ABER’s communication strategy, branding and official statements; she will also serve as its spokesperson, manage media and public relations, and oversee the organisation’s website and social media platforms.
Her responsibilities will also include: managing relationships with government, diplomatic missions and other stakeholders, coordinating advocacy for women in the Blue Economy, overseeing internal communications and publications, and leading publicity for ABER programmes and recognitions.
The appointment, which was described in the letter as voluntary, takes effect from September 15, 2026.
