The 2026 Kogi State Civil Service Week, will commence on Friday, September 25, and run through Tuesday, September 30, with a series of activities lined up to celebrate civil servants and their contributions to the development of the state.
The Kogi State Head of Service (HoS), Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, disclosed this during a general meeting with members of the Main Organising Committee in her office in Lokoja, a statement issued by Information Officer, Kogi HoS, James Sani has disclosed.
She said preparations were already in place to ensure a successful, impactful, and memorable celebration, urging members of the organising committee to remain committed to their respective responsibilities.

According to her, the five-day programme will kick off on Friday, September 25, with Jumu’ah prayers.
Activities will continue on Saturday, September 26, with members of the organising committee and other participants paying a visit to an orphanage while Sunday, September 27, has been designated for special Christian prayers for the Civil Service Week.
The celebration will move into its major physical engagement on Monday, September 28, with a road walk involving civil servants and other participants across the state.
The week will climax on Tuesday, September 29, with lectures and an colourful Award Night, on Wednesday September,,where outstanding civil servants and other deserving individuals are expected to be recognised for their contributions and service.
Hajiya Falilat charged members of the organising committee to take their assignments seriously and work collectively to deliver a celebration worthy of the state’s civil servants.
She also called on civil servants across the state to actively participate in the activities, describing the annual celebration as an opportunity for workers to come together, reflect on their contributions, and celebrate their collective achievements.
“Let’s celebrate ourselves together as civil servants. The Civil Service Week is our own,” she added.
The Head of Service further commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what she described as his administration’s efforts to give civil servants a sense of belonging and create an enabling environment for them to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
She expressed optimism that the 2026 Civil Service Week would provide an opportunity not only for celebration but also for strengthening unity, camaraderie, and a renewed sense of purpose among civil servants.
