The Visitation Panel constituted by Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has begun its assignment at Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, with a call for sustainable education and improved welfare for staff and students.
The panel was received by the management of the college led by the Provost, Professor Sadiya Mohammed, who welcomed the team to her office for an introductory meeting.
The committee was chaired by Emeritus Professor Mohammed Abdulaziz, former Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. Other members include the Secretary, Malam Mukhtar Alhaji, and other distinguished academics.

Speaking during the visit, Professor Abdulaziz said the panel was in the college in the best interest of sustaining quality education and improving tertiary institutions in the state.
He noted that Governor Bala Mohammed set up the panel to review the state of infrastructure, academic standards, and staff and students’ welfare in all tertiary institutions across Bauchi State.
“The Governor expects the best outcome and recommendations from this committee that will help in repositioning our institutions for better performance,” the chairman said, while wishing members success in the assignment.
Responding, Professor Sadiya Mohammed, commended the Governor for his continued support to the college and appreciated the panel for the visit. She assured the committee of the management’s full cooperation throughout their stay in Azare.
As part of its itinerary, the panel also paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Katagum, His Royal Highness, Dr Umar Kabir Umar, to seek royal blessings and prayers for the success of the assignment.
The Emir commended the Bala Mohammed administration for bringing positive transformation, peace and unity to the state. He also lauded the leadership of Professor Sadiya for her efforts in moving the college forward.
The committee further visited the Chairman of Katagum Local Government Area on a courtesy call. The panel commended the council chairman for bringing development closer to the grassroots.
The Visitation Panel is expected to tour other tertiary institutions in the state and submit recommendations to the state government at the end of its assignment.
