The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has declared its full support for Comrade Akeem Ayinla (popularly known as Momentum), following his acquisition of the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Offa, Oyun and Ifelodun Federal Constituency of Kwara State under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

At the formal presentation of the nomination forms, NANS President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, described Ayinla as a dependable former student leader whose record in office still stands out within the student movement. He said Ayinla’s tenure as NANS Treasurer reflected discipline, accountability and commitment to service.
“His aspiration reflects the hopes of millions of Nigerian students, and we believe he deserves the opportunity to serve at the national level.”
Oladoja further urged the leadership of the APC to consider Ayinla for the party’s ticket, noting that such a decision would strengthen youth engagement and mobilise widespread student support for the party ahead of the elections.
Ayinla, who is also the founder of the Ayinla Foundation, has been involved in several community development and humanitarian projects, including the construction of classrooms and ICT centres, as well as support initiatives for vulnerable groups across communities.
Speaking on his ambition, Ayinla said his decision to run was driven by a desire to deepen community development, empower young people and promote peacebuilding. He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for what he described as their “people-focused leadership and reform-driven governance,” pledging to contribute meaningfully if elected.
The endorsement from NANS is seen as a major boost to Ayinla’s political journey, further positioning him as a strong contender with significant youth backing in the race for the House of Representatives seat.
