From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barrister Wike, has announced that operations at the newly constructed Abuja bus terminals will commence within the next 2-3 weeks according to the Federal Executive Council’s approval.

Announcing this during an inspection of road projects in Abuja, Wike said, the Federal Executive Council (FEC), has approved the management contract, paving the way for the transition to full service.

The Minister while speaking on the road projects, expressed his satisfaction with the quality of work done on the access road to the Mabushi bus terminal and the Arterial Road N1.

According to Wike, the FEC approval was needed because the contract value exceeded ministerial approval limits. He stated that the bus terminals’ management team is putting finishing touches to commence operations soon.

The Minister emphasised his commitment to ensuring contractors adhere to high standards, noting that the FCT serves as a critical window for visitors to gauge Nigeria’s infrastructure and development.

Wike also mentioned that the access road to the Mabushi bus terminal will be part of projects commissioned during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s third-year anniversary.
