Adamawa Speaker, 14 legislators withdraws membership from PDP

Wesley Bathiya, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside 14 other lawmakers.

The Speaker made the announcement during plenary recently while presenting letters of resignation from the affected members.

After concluding legislative business, he called for order and read the letters of withdrawal one after another, confirming their exit from the ruling party.

Members whose resignation were announced on the floor are the Speaker himself, the Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Buba Jidjiwa (Jada- Mbulo), Kefas Calvin (Toungo), Bulus Geoffrey (Leko – Koma) and Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali).

Also are, Kefas Emmanuel, (Song), Ahmed Jingi Belel (Maiha), Hon. Moses Yerima Zah (Michika), Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa), Pwamwakeno Mackondo (Numan), Adun John Alaba (Uba -Gaya), Bulus Kantom (Shelleng) as well as Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu (Mayo Belwa), Japhet Hammanjabu (Verre).

It would be recalled that, Hon. Musa Kallamu, confirmed that which ever direction  Governor Fintiri moves to, they would follow him “back to back”.

The member representing Lamurde state constituency, Hon. Bauna Myandiasa, also a member of the PDP, however, was absent during the plennary session.

Reacting over the move, Mohammed Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer of the All Progressives Party (APC) in the state, said what is happening in the political arena is explaining that president Bola Tinubu’s government, is attracting all including opposition.
