From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State, has formally welcomed Commandant Bala Bodinga, as the new Substantive State Commandant, making him as the 15th officer to hold the position.

His appointment, approved by the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Audi, is part of a nationwide strategy to strengthen operational effectiveness across all state commands.

Commandant Bodinga, a highly experienced officer, has previously led NSCDC operations in Kebbi, Jigawa, and Kano states, and served as National Arm Commander, Special Forces, at the Corps’ headquarters in Abuja. His track record includes improving operational efficiency and leading tactical interventions at both state and national levels.

Upon assuming office in Ilorin, Commandant Bodinga warned that Kwara State would no longer be a refuge for criminals. “Kwara State is not and will not be a safe haven for criminals. Those who choose to engage in vandalism or sabotage of government infrastructure will face the full weight of the law. We are fully prepared, operationally and strategically, to deal decisively with offenders,” he declared.
