Former Minister of state Foraigne Affairs resignes from PDP

Former Minister of Foreigne Affairs during former President Goodluck Jonathan, has resigned his membership from People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Minister Dr Aliyu Hong, made his resignation known in a statement on Monday, February 9, 2026 and made available to journalists in Yola, as his personal decision.

The statement thus, “I write to formerly tender my resignation from the PDP Shangui ward, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa state.”

The statement further said, “this decision is a personal decision, reached after wild consultations with my family, friends, and political associates after careful reflection on the previewing circumferences and my future political direction.”

The former minister reiterated that, “I have resdived to withdraw my membership from the party.”

“I wish to sincerely thank the party at the ward, local government and state level, for the support and co-operation extended to me over the years,” he added.
