Jigawa Govt. inaugurates monitoring team for JIGAWAUNITE projects

The Jigawa State Government, has inaugurated a monitoring team for the JIGAWAUNITE Project, a significant initiative aimed at enhancing educational outcomes across the state.

Inaugurating the team, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State Mr Bala Ibrahim, emphasised the importance of the team, highlighting the substantial financial commitment made by Governor Umar Namadi to the JIGAWAUNITE Project.

He noted that the team was selected based on merit, personal integrity and competence, comprising highly professional educationists. This diverse expertise is expected to facilitate the successful achievement of the project’s objectives.

Mr Bala Ibrahim said the primary goals of the Monitoring Team includes; Evaluating academic performance across participating schools; Assessing engagement and ownership of the project by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); Delivering updates and insights to Governor Namadi and other stakeholders.

The SSG outlined the team’s terms of reference, which include developing a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plan, conducting classroom observations, and preparing monthly and quarterly reports to document successes and lessons learned.

He emphasised that the initiative establishes a strong foundation for data informed policies aimed at improving educational outcomes in Jigawa State.

Responding, Dr. Yau Sara, Chairman of the Monitoring Team and Director General of the Jigawa State Quality Assurance Agency, expressed gratitude to Governor Umar Namadi for the opportunity to serve. He assured that the team will diligently work to justify the confidence placed in them.

Other members of the team includes; Prof Haruna Musa,(Executive Chairman SUBEB – Member), Dr Hauwa Babura (Technical Adviser Basic Education – Member ), Director General – Jigawa State Bureau of Statistics, Director General ICT and Digital Economy – Member, Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Basic Education Board – Member and Director Planning Research and Statistics, Ministry for Basic Education – Member, Director Quality Assurance, Ministry for Basic Education – Member, Director Social Mobilisation, Ministry for Basic Education- Member, Director Schools, Ministry for Basic Education – Member.

Also in the committee are; Director Special Duties Ministry for Basic Education – Member, Director Planning Research and Statistics, State Universal Basic Education Board – Member, Director Quality Assurance, State Universal Basic Education Board – Member, Director Social Mobilisation, State Universal Basic Education Board – Member, Director Schools, State Universal Basic Education Board – Member, Director Special Duties State Universal Basic Education Board – Member, Representative of NewGlobe State Programme Team – Member, Representative of UNICEF – Member, Representative of PLANE – Member, Representative of SBMC – Member and Director Admin and Finance, State Universal Basic Education Board – Secretary
