Abuja Court grants Sowore, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, others bail

An Abuja Magistrate Court has, today Friday, granted the publisher of Sahara Reporters and activist, Omoyele Sowore; in addition with Aloy Ejimakor, who is a member of the legal team representing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu; the brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu; and ten others, bail with the sum of ₦500,000, with two sureties in like sum.

A Magistrate Court in Kuje this morning granted the bail on an application for the release of the aforementioned.

It was learnt earlier that the thirteen defendants were all arrested and arraigned before the court for inciting public disturbance and breach of peace in connection with the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held on Monday, October 20, in Abuja.

While Ejimakor, Emmanuel and the other ten defendants were arrested during the protest and later taken and remanded at the Kuje Correctional facility; Sowores’, was apprehended at the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday while attending Kanu’s terrorism trial to show solidarity.

It could be recalled, that on Monday 20th October, 2025, Activist Sowore among others staged a protest against the non release of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
