The newly deployed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, CC Abbas Mohammed, has pledged to adopt a more robust, intelligence-driven, and proactive approach to tackling insecurity and protecting lives, property, and critical national assets across the state.

Commandant Abbas made this known during a media engagement with journalists in Ilorin.

He stated that his leadership would be anchored on intelligence-led operations and sustained community engagement aimed at strengthening the state’s internal security framework.

He emphasised that criminal activities would not be tolerated under his watch, directing all tactical unit heads to intensify 24-hour surveillance and patrols across strategic and vulnerable areas.

According to him, this is to boost operational visibility, enhance rapid response, and deter criminal elements.

The Commandant also issued a stern warning to criminals, stressing that Kwara State will not serve as a safe haven for unlawful activities.

He affirmed the Command’s readiness to deploy all lawful means to detect, prevent, and prosecute offenders in accordance with existing laws.

Reiterating the importance of collaboration in modern security management, Abbas assured that the Command would strengthen synergy with other security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to effectively address evolving security challenges.

He further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to professionalism, discipline, and efficient service delivery.

He also urged residents of Kwara State to remain vigilant and support security agencies by providing timely, accurate, and) credible information.
