Adamawa Police, NCCSALW strengthen partnership to combat illegal Arms

Adamawa state Police Command, has announced plans to intensify collaboration with the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW).

The duo efforts are on top gear to curb and reduce the circulation of illegal arms.

This is was disclosed by the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, during a courtesy visit to the Command by the NCCSALW North-East Zonal Coordinator, Major General Abubakar Adamu (Rtd).

The Police Boss reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to working work hand in hand with the Centre to identify, recover, and eliminate illicit arms across the state.

He assured the delegation of the police’s full support in efforts aimed at curbing the threat posed by illegal weapons and enhancing public safety.

In a remark, Major General Abubakar Adamu (Rtd), reiterates the need for sustained cooperation among security agencies and key stakeholders in addressing arms prolfieration

He underscored the Centre’s strategy of mopping up illegal weapons through organised collection and destruction initiatives.

The visit signals a deepening of inter-agency cooperation in the fight against armed violence, as security authorities intensify efforts to promote peace and stability in Adamawa State.
