Philanthropist donate to Ida-Ovu mosque project

A Philantropist, Muhammed Jamiu, has donated of thousands of blocks to aid in completing the ongoing building project for the Mosque in Ida-Ovu Ovete Community, in New Zango, Adavi Local Government Area.

This philanthropic act demonstrates his commitment to supporting the community.

In addition to the block donation, Jamiu popularly known as “Excellency”, also promised to create empowerment opportunities for women in the community.

The Chairman of the Ida-Ovu Community, Hon. Yunusa Osuwa, who facilitated the delivery of the blocks, praised Jamiu as a God-fearing person with a genuine concern for the welfare of the masses

Hon. Osuwa assured the people of Ida-Ovu Community that more development projects are on the way. “This is just the beginning,” he stated. “We successfully secured a borehole merely two weeks after we were sworn in to pilot the affairs of the community.”

The community women leader, AbdulQodir Fatimat, while commending Mr. Jamiu for his benevolence, highlighted the struggles faced by the women. She disclosed that many women are suffering under the burden of high-interest loans (Lapo loans), making it difficult for them to sustain their businesses.

She appealed to Mr. Jamiu to support them through women empowerment initiatives, which would provide stable capital to grow their businesses. She concluded by praying to God to increase his resources.
