Our Correspondent also noted a higher turnout of female voters compared to their male counterparts.

Some voters were observed exchanging pleasantries at the polling units visited.

However, government’s restriction on vehicular movement was not strictly observed, as some motorists were still seen on the roads during the voting process.

While some large business owners closed their doors to customers, operators of small businesses remained open during the restricted hours.

In the same vein, some proprietors of big business enterprises closed doors to customers, while operators of small commercial activities opened for business during the restricted hours.

Reports from various Local Government Areas across the State also indicated a peaceful atmosphere at the time of this report.

A total of 21 Chairmanship and over 200 Councillorship candidates are expected to emerge as winners at the end of the voting.
