*Blames opposition for spreading falsehood

Chairman Yagba East Local Government Area, Mr Dare Joshua, has debunked the rumour making the rounds that the vehicles provided by the state government to enhance security were not evenly distributed.

Mr Joshua in an interview with newsmen in Lokoja said the rumour emanated from unpatriotic people whose aim was to sabotage the efforts of state government and the council in maintaining internal security.

According to him, the issue was fueled by the opposition who unjustly wished to make the ruling party unpopular despite all her political achievements.

The council boss maintained that he had lived all his life in Isanlu the headquarter of the council and has maintained cordial relationship with the people despite originating from Oke – oyi axis.

He warned those peddling the rumour to desist or face the consequences of defamation of character.

According to him, Yagba East has ten wards with four belonging to Isanlu and remaining six to Okeoyi axis.

He explained that six vehicle were given to Isanlu due to her status as the capital and numbers of security outlets while the other three were given to Oke -oyi.

Mr. Joshua assured that he will not relent in his efforts to maintain peace and orderliness in the council despite falsehood.

While urging the people of the area to remain resolute in the face of insecurity in recent times, Mr Joshua urged all citizens to maintain high level of alertness and report suspicious cases to appropriate authority.
